A note about vouchers: if you haven't decided on all the films you want to see, you can round out your 6 or 12 tickets with voucers. However, vouchers will not admit you to a film. Voucher must be exchanged for tickets to specific screenings. Exchange as early as possible to avoid stand-by or sellouts!

Because advance tickets for many screenings sell quickly, patrons are advised to purchase tickets as early as possible. And the best way to ensure a seat at the CIFF is to become a Cleveland Film Society Member at a passholder level.

Sold Out? Nope - Just on Stand-By!
Only about two-thirds of the tickets to any film are sold in advance so that we can save room for our passholders. Therefore, even for "sold out" films, we can often accommodate many patrons just before showtime. Numbered Stand-By tickets are sold beginning one hour before showtime, outside the theater lobby. (Be aware that a line sometimes forms earlier than this.) Then, ten minutes before the film begins, Stand-By ticket holders are admitted, in numerical order, on a space-available basis until the theater is full. Those who cannot get in are refunded in full. Cash or vouchers only, please - no checks or credit cards.

  No refunds, no exchanges (except Stand-By).
  During the CIFF, doors open daily at 9:00 AM except for Thursday, March 6th and Friday, March 7th (11:30 AM).
  Ticket holders and passholders who do not arrive fifteen minutes before showtime cannot be guaranteed a seat.
  All films are subject to change.
  No one under ten admitted, except to Family Films. All children must have a ticket.
  No Tower City Cinemas or Cleveland Cinemas discount tickets, coupons or passes will be accepted.
