Run Time: 79 minutes
Despicable Dick Kuchera is one nasty S.O.B. Over the course of a raucous life, he's abused a bunch of wives, messed around with his brother-in-law's fiancée, neglected his kids, threatened people with guns, drunk way too much, and spouted plenty of filth. Dick and his bizarre behavior are the stuff of legend to everyone who's ever had the misfortune to know him. Now, at nearly 70 and perhaps sensing Judgment Day is near, Dick has suddenly found religion. Steps 8 and 9 of his 12-step recovery program require him to make amends with all the people he's wronged, and he's been stuck on those steps for over a decade. DESPICABLE DICK & RIGHTEOUS RICHARD follows dastardly Dick, starting from his "portable ranch house" in North Dakota, as he travels around in his truck begging the small army of the aggrieved for forgiveness. But most of his former cohorts know Dick far too well to believe he'll ever be a Righteous Richard. A hilarious, instructive character study of a self-centered American original. –B.B.
