'Where there's a will, there's a way... out.' Ali is an Afghan man seeking refuge in Australia but has ended up in the Woomera Detention Centre - the infamous subject of asylum seeker debate from 1999-2003. Ali runs. He runs compulsively, back and forth between the compound fences in the stark South Australian summer. Red dirt beneath his feet. Trapped. He runs like a mad man, day in day out, until... he collapses and is taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. And somewhere along the way, he finds his freedom.
