Country: USA, SPAIN, MEXICO
Run Time: 110 minutes
After years of working in New York to support his wife and daughters back home, Pedro returns to Mexico to find that his absence has put a serious strain on his relationship with his family. His wife Teresa is guarded and worried he was unfaithful while in America. While his youngest daughter Heidi still seeks his attention, his eldest Lorena resists his attempts to reconnect, still resentful over lost time. Despite the friction, Pedro is happy to be home, ready for a new start. He's able to balance family and work, even finding time to make music with his band, the Copa Kings. But just as things begin to come together, Teresa becomes pregnant. The financial strain from complications puts pressure on Pedro. Can he provide for his family without having to leave them behind again? Featuring non-professional actors playing versions of themselves, AQUÍ Y ALLÁ is an honest and intimate examination of the difficult conundrum that migrant workers face.
